Volunteer With Elephants in India โ Ethical Elephant Sanctuary Program in Jaipur
Updated 2026 | Trusted by International Volunteers from USA, UK, Italy, Australia, Canada & Europe
Looking for an ethical elephant volunteer program in India? Our Volunteer with Elephants in Jaipur experience gives you the opportunity to spend meaningful time caring for elephants while learning about their welfare, behavior, daily routines, and the cultural heritage of Rajasthan. Located at Haathi Gaon (Elephant Village) near the famous Amber Fort, this program allows international volunteers to participate in responsible elephant care under the guidance of experienced mahouts and our local coordinators.
Unlike a typical tourist activity, this is a genuine volunteer experience where participants become involved in the elephants’ everyday care. Volunteers help prepare fresh food, feed the elephants, assist with bathing, clean living areas, provide gentle oil massages, accompany elephants during daily walks, prepare traditional chapatis, and observe their natural behaviour. Throughout the program you’ll learn about elephant nutrition, welfare, enrichment activities, and the long-standing relationship between elephants and their caretakers in Rajasthan.
Animal welfare remains our highest priority. Our program promotes respectful interaction with elephants and encourages visitors to understand their physical and emotional needs through observation, care, and education. Every activity is carried out alongside experienced local mahouts who have dedicated many years to caring for these magnificent animals. Volunteers gain a deeper understanding of responsible elephant tourism while contributing positively to the daily care of the elephants.
Beyond the elephant project, your experience includes airport pickup in Jaipur, comfortable accommodation with a welcoming Indian host family (private room and hotel upgrades available), three freshly prepared vegetarian meals each day, daily transportation to the project, cultural orientation, weekend sightseeing opportunities, and 24/7 local support. Whether you’re travelling from the USA, UK, Australia, Canada, Europe, or anywhere else in the world, you’ll enjoy a safe, authentic, and unforgettable volunteer experience in India.
Whether you’re taking a gap year, travelling solo, studying veterinary science, passionate about wildlife conservation, or simply dreaming of spending meaningful time with elephants, our Elephant Volunteer Program in Jaipur combines ethical elephant care, cultural immersion, and responsible travel into one unforgettable journey.
