Requirements: No teaching qualification is required. Volunteers should have enthusiasm, patience, creativity, and a willingness to help children improve their education and confidence.

Location: Jaipur, Rajasthan, India – a vibrant cultural city known for its heritage, colorful markets, forts, and welcoming local communities.

Volunteer Activities: Teach English, Mathematics, pronunciation, communication skills, creative arts, music, games, storytelling, and hygiene awareness. Volunteers also assist local teachers with lesson planning and encourage children to attend school regularly.

Working Days: Monday to Friday. Weekends are free for sightseeing, cultural activities, local markets, and travel around Jaipur and Rajasthan.

What is Included: Airport pickup in Jaipur, accommodation with host family, three meals daily, bottled water, Wi-Fi, volunteer placement, transportation to project site, orientation, sightseeing tours, program materials, and 24/7 local support.

What is Not Included: Visa, flights, monument entry fees, insurance, personal expenses, airport drop-off, and telephone calls.

Language Support

Most local staff, host families, and older students understand basic English, so language is not a major barrier. Volunteers interested in deeper cultural immersion can also join our optional Hindi language classes for an additional fee.

Arrival in Jaipur

Upon arrival in Jaipur, a member of the Volunteering With India team will welcome you at the airport, railway station, or bus stand and transfer you to your accommodation. You will meet your host family, receive orientation about Indian culture, safety guidelines, your teaching placement, and your volunteer schedule.

Weekdays – Volunteer Teaching Work

Monday to Friday, volunteers participate in teaching activities at local schools or community education centers. Daily tasks include teaching English, helping with pronunciation, supporting classroom activities, leading games, arts, storytelling sessions, and encouraging children through positive interaction.

Weekends – Explore Jaipur

Weekends are free for sightseeing and cultural experiences. Volunteers can explore Jaipur’s forts, palaces, local bazaars, temples, cafés, and traditional markets. Optional tours to destinations like the Taj Mahal, Ranthambore National Park, Delhi, Pushkar, and Udaipur are also available.

Travel Opportunities After Your Program

Many volunteers continue traveling across India after their placement. Our team can help organize add-on tours including the Golden Triangle Tour, Tiger Safaris, Rajasthan tours, Rishikesh trips, Varanasi visits, and other cultural experiences across India.

Accommodation

Volunteers stay with welcoming Indian host families in Jaipur who have years of experience hosting international participants. Accommodation includes Wi-Fi, filtered drinking water, Western-style bathrooms, hot showers, and comfortable shared or private rooms.

Living with a host family gives volunteers the opportunity to experience authentic Indian culture, festivals, food, and daily life while feeling safe and supported throughout their stay.

Meals

Transportation

Airport pickup and daily transportation between your accommodation and project site are included. Volunteers usually travel by tuk-tuk or car, offering a fun and authentic local experience while ensuring safe transportation.

Our volunteer programs in India operate year-round with flexible joining dates to match your travel schedule. Volunteers can arrive on any day; however, we recommend arriving on a Sunday so you can settle in comfortably and begin your volunteer activities on Monday morning.
