From the moment you arrive in Jaipur, we take care of everything including airport pickup, accommodation, meals, local transportation, orientation, and weekend sightseeing activities. Volunteers stay with a welcoming Indian host family for a truly immersive cultural experience, with private room and hotel upgrade options available.

Project Duration: Minimum 1-week stay up to 12 weeks. For shorter stays, join our 3-Day Volunteer Children + Jaipur Tour Program.

Project Availability: Available all year round with flexible start and finish dates. We recommend arriving on Sunday so you can begin volunteering on Monday. Check dates here: Start Dates.

Location: Jaipur, Rajasthan, India — known as the Pink City and one of India’s safest and most culturally vibrant destinations.

Requirements: No qualifications or prior experience required. Volunteers should have compassion, patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.

Volunteer Activities: Teach English and Mathematics, help with homework, organize games and sports, assist in arts and crafts, storytelling, music, dance, hygiene awareness, meal support, and provide emotional encouragement to children aged 0–18 years.

Working Days: Monday to Friday. Weekends are reserved for sightseeing and cultural activities in Jaipur.

Program Includes: Airport pickup, orientation, accommodation, 3 meals daily, local transportation, weekend sightseeing, bottled water, Wi-Fi, volunteer support, and 24/7 assistance.

Not Included: Flights, visa, insurance, monument entry fees, airport drop-off, and personal expenses.

Accommodation Options: Shared homestay included. Private room, luxury homestay, and hotel upgrade options available.

No Experience Needed

This program is ideal for students, solo travelers, gap year travelers, couples, families, and anyone interested in volunteer work with children in India. No teaching qualifications or childcare experience are required.

Language Support

Most host families and project staff understand basic English, so communication is usually easy for international volunteers. Optional Hindi language lessons are also available for volunteers wanting a deeper cultural experience.

Day 1 – Arrival in Jaipur

A member of our Volunteering With India team will welcome you at Jaipur Airport, railway station, or bus station. You will be transferred to your accommodation and introduced to your host family and local neighborhood.

An orientation session will cover project information, Indian culture, local customs, safety guidelines, transportation, and useful travel tips.

Weekdays – Volunteer Work

Monday to Friday you will participate in daily orphanage activities including teaching, childcare support, games, arts and crafts, and educational sessions. Volunteers generally work a few hours per day with breaks during the afternoon.

Weekends – Explore Jaipur

Weekends are free for sightseeing and cultural experiences. Volunteers can explore Jaipur’s famous attractions including Amber Fort, City Palace, Hawa Mahal, local bazaars, and temples. Optional weekend tours to Delhi, Agra, Pushkar, Ranthambore, and other destinations are also available.

Accommodation

Volunteers stay with carefully selected Indian host families in Jaipur. Accommodation includes Wi-Fi, filtered drinking water, hot showers, Western bathrooms, and air-conditioned rooms depending on the option selected.

Meals

Three freshly prepared vegetarian meals are provided daily by your host family. Meals often include chapati, rice, vegetables, lentils, yogurt, and authentic Indian dishes.

Transportation

Airport pickup and daily transportation between the volunteer project and accommodation are included. Volunteers usually travel by tuk-tuk or car with local coordinators.

Shopping & Local Area

The accommodation is located in central Jaipur close to ATMs, markets, cafes, pharmacies, and shopping centers. Uber and Ola taxis are easily available.

Our volunteer programs in India operate year-round with flexible joining dates to match your travel schedule. Volunteers can arrive on any day; however, we recommend arriving on a Sunday so you can settle in comfortably and begin your volunteer activities on Monday morning.
