A Heartwarming and Eye-Opening Experience

The arrival pick-up service was excellent—finding the program manager and our driver at Jaipur Airport was incredibly easy, and we were dropped off at our host house without any issues. The accommodation was comfortable and safe, with fresh meals served daily. We truly felt well cared for throughout our stay.

Our daily rickshaw rides to the school were always punctual, and Toto Ram, our driver, made sure we were safe on the road. The project staff were exceptionally kind and supportive, always available to help or answer any questions.

The volunteer experience itself was unlike anything we’ve ever done. We worked with strong, respectful children whose resilience inspired us every day. Teaching them English and Math, with Mr. Govind as our translator, was deeply rewarding—especially as we saw their progress and excitement for learning grow day by day.

This program gave us so much more than we expected, and we’re truly honored to have been part of it. We wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a meaningful and transformative volunteer opportunity.

A Heartwarming Father-Daughter Volunteering Experience in India

As a father and daughter traveling together to explore India and give back through volunteering, we had an incredible and unforgettable experience with VWI.

Our time spent on the Children’s Project was nothing short of brilliant. Every day, we dedicated around 5 hours at the center, helping to educate the children, play games, and share joyful dance sessions. The energy and smiles from the kids made every moment worthwhile.

We’re both extremely satisfied with the program that VWI provided. From the delicious home-cooked food and clean accommodation to the reliable transportation and supportive project staff — everything was simply fantastic.

An Enjoyable and Eye-Opening First Volunteering Experience with VWI

As my first-ever volunteering experience, this journey with VWI has been incredibly enjoyable — a beautiful blend of meaningful service, cultural immersion, local festivals, and sightseeing.

What I truly appreciated was the flexibility — I could get involved as much or as little as I wanted, and the VWI staff were always accommodating and supportive of my choices.

From the very first email until the end of my stay, I received clear information, warm hospitality, and ongoing support. Not only did the VWI team arrange accommodation, transportation, and guided visits, but they also invited volunteers to share meals at their homes — a touching gesture that made me feel truly welcomed.

It was inspiring to also visit another school project outside of my assigned one and witness VWI’s broader impact. I had the opportunity to see the Mobile Van Clinic, which travels daily to the slums, providing free medical care to children and families — an initiative that left a deep impression on me.

This trip has been insightful, impactful, and heartwarming, and I am grateful for the experience.

I took part in the Street Children Project in Jaipur, teaching English, math, art, and playing games with children who once lived on the streets. It was incredibly rewarding to connect with them, see their smiles, and watch them engage with learning.

I also got the chance to experience the amazing Mobile VAN project for slum children and even tried my hand at making chapatis in Elephant Village — such a fun and heartwarming moment!

On top of the volunteer work, I got to truly experience Indian culture — from flying kites during the Holy Day Kite Festival, to visiting a Krishna temple at night, and even joining in on a wedding and engagement celebration with the VWI staff. Yeyyyy! 🎉

This week was everything — meaningful, joyful, and full of memories I’ll carry forever. I’d definitely love to come back again soon!

Volunteering with VWI turned my trip from a regular holiday into a life-changing journey — one where I could actually make a difference in someone’s life while discovering India in the most authentic way.

From teaching children, to riding elephants, downing endless cups of chai, feeding peanuts to monkeys, and even attending a 12-hour Indian wedding — every day was a new adventure.

Die Arbeit mit den vom Bahnhof geretteten Kindern - viele von ihnen waren auf dem Weg zurück in ihre Heimat, nachdem sie ausgebeutet worden waren - war eine tiefgreifende Erfahrung. Sie waren einfühlsam, voller Persönlichkeit und unglaublich widerstandsfähig. Wir haben gemeinsam so viel gelernt, und ihr Geist hat einen bleibenden Eindruck bei mir hinterlassen.

Der Direktor der Organisation ist wirklich beeindruckend, und ich bin dankbar für die Möglichkeit, an einer so wirkungsvollen Arbeit mitzuwirken.

Die Projektmitarbeiter waren äußerst hilfreich, insbesondere bei der Logistik und den Übersetzungen. Dank ihrer Erreichbarkeit verlief alles reibungslos. Die Abholung bei der Ankunft war pünktlich und zuverlässig, genau wie versprochen.

Meine Gastfamilie war warmherzig, entspannt und unglaublich hilfsbereit - ich fühlte mich wie einer der ihren. Und ein besonderes Dankeschön an den Autorikscha-Fahrer - er war während meines gesamten Aufenthalts fantastisch.

Ich gebe VWI für alles die volle 10 von 10 Punkten. Das war ein unvergessliches Erlebnis, das ich immer mit mir tragen werde.

Der Abholservice bei der Ankunft war ausgezeichnet, und alles, was danach kam, übertraf meine Erwartungen. Ich habe bei einer wunderbaren Gastfamilie gewohnt - das Essen war köstlich, die Unterkunft komfortabel, und ihre Herzlichkeit und Gastfreundschaft sind ein wichtiger Grund, warum ich wiederkommen möchte.

Der Transportservice war spitzenmäßig - und der Taxifahrer? Er ist nicht mehr nur ein Fahrer, er ist mein neuer Bruder!
