24-Hour Administrative Support: Our local team remains available to assist you throughout your program and help whenever you need support.
What Is Included: Program arrangements, pre-departure information and support, accommodation with a local host family, three meals per day, arrival pickup from Jaipur, transfer to accommodation and orientation, daily transportation to and from the project, program materials, program coordinator/English-speaking support at the project site, introduction to Indian culture, local staff support, Jaipur sightseeing and a volunteer certificate upon request.

🗓️ 3-Day Elephant Volunteer & Jaipur Tour Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Jaipur & Elephant Volunteer Experience
On Day 1, we provide pickup from your desired location in Jaipur, including Jaipur Airport, railway station, bus stand or hotel. You will then be transferred to your host family accommodation, where you can settle in, have your meals and rest after your journey.
At approximately 2:30 p.m., our project transportation will take you to the Elephant Village. Your first afternoon provides an introduction to the elephants and the project environment. Depending on the daily schedule, activities may include meeting the elephants and helping with chapatti preparation.
We recommend arriving in Jaipur before 12:00 noon so that you have enough time to reach your accommodation, have a meal and rest before the afternoon activity.
Day 2 – Morning Elephant Care & Jaipur Sightseeing
Your second day begins early because elephant care activities start in the morning. Our project transportation will take you to the Elephant Village at approximately 5:00 a.m.
You will spend approximately three hours assisting with elephant care activities. Depending on the daily requirements, these may include bathing the elephants, cleaning their area, making bundles of hay, feeding and massage.
After the morning elephant-care session, you will return to your accommodation at approximately 8:30 a.m. In the afternoon, transportation will take you for a Jaipur sightseeing tour from approximately 1:30 p.m. to 5:00–5:30 p.m.
The sightseeing tour includes Amber Fort, Jaigarh Fort, Panna Meena Kund and Jal Mahal.
Day 3 – Final Elephant Care Session & Jaipur Sightseeing
Day 3 follows a similar morning schedule. You will return to the Elephant Village for your final elephant-care session and have the opportunity to say goodbye to the elephants and the local team.
After returning to your accommodation and having time to rest and eat, you will continue with your final Jaipur sightseeing activities in the afternoon.
The afternoon sightseeing includes Monkey Temple, Albert Hall Museum and Birla Temple. After the organized sightseeing, you can explore nearby local markets and temples independently.
Day 4 – Breakfast & Check-Out
After breakfast with your host family at approximately 8:30 a.m., you can complete your check-out. Check-out from the homestay is before 12:00 noon, marking the end of your short-term elephant volunteering experience in Jaipur.
If you would like to continue traveling in India after the program, our team can also provide general travel assistance and information about additional tours and experiences.
🏠 Accommodation
VWI arranges accommodation for participants from the first day of their arrival in Jaipur. You will stay with an experienced Indian host family in a central area of Jaipur. Host families have experience welcoming international travelers and volunteers.
The accommodation provides facilities such as filtered drinking water, hot water, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, modern bathrooms and comfortable beds. The location provides convenient access to shops, restaurants, ATMs, banks and other local amenities.
Staying with a host family also gives you an opportunity to experience everyday Indian life and learn about local food, traditions and culture.

🍛 Repas
Three meals per day are provided at the host family accommodation. Meals are traditional Indian home-cooked food and normally include breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Breakfast may include tea or coffee with bread, poha or Indian paratha. Lunch and dinner generally include Indian vegetables, roti or chapati, rice, yogurt and pickles. Fruit is also available at the accommodation.
🛺 Transportation
Airport pickup is provided when you arrive in Jaipur. Daily transportation is also arranged between your accommodation and the elephant project. Depending on the day's schedule, transportation may be by auto-rickshaw (tuk-tuk) or car.
The elephant project is approximately 20–30 minutes from the accommodation. Transportation is also provided for the Jaipur sightseeing activities included in the program.
🛍️ Shopping & Local Access
The accommodation is located in a central area of Jaipur with shops and everyday amenities nearby. Participants can purchase personal supplies, snacks and other items within walking distance.
For supermarkets, shopping malls or other locations, participants can use local transportation, Uber or Ola, or ask our local team for assistance.
