Gail: - È stato così bello trovare qualcuno che ci aspettava quando siamo usciti dall'aeroporto con i nostri nomi su un biglietto. Questo elimina ogni preoccupazione. La nostra famiglia ospitante era adorabile e conoscerla è stata una parte speciale del nostro soggiorno. Il cibo era gustoso. Il nostro giro in Tuk-Tuk ci ha dato la possibilità di vedere la città al mattino, quando si sveglia, e di vedere cose che non avremmo mai potuto vedere. L'autista era sempre puntuale e con il sorriso sulle labbra. I membri dello staff del Progetto sono stati fantastici! È stata una sensazione di sicurezza avere qualcuno con noi mentre lavoravamo che ci spiegava e interpretava le cose. Abbiamo deciso di fare volontariato con VWI per essere parte del Paese. Non per fare solo i turisti. Abbiamo scelto il progetto sugli elefanti perché amiamo gli animali. Vorrei dare un 10 su 10.
Stanley:- Il nostro servizio di pick-up all'arrivo è stato fantastico! Le sistemazioni e il cibo erano così belli. Hanno fatto un buon lavoro per soddisfare la mia dieta speciale. La famiglia è stata molto disponibile. Il nostro autista è stato fantastico e sempre puntuale. Il personale del progetto è stato molto disponibile e amichevole.
Abbiamo deciso di scegliere VWI perché ci è sembrata una buona organizzazione con buoni programmi. Vorrei dare 10 su 10+++. Questa esperienza è per tutta la vita! Raccomanderei questo programma a tutti.
Brenda:- Servizio di prelievo eccellente. La famiglia ospitante è deliziosa e il cibo era molto buono. Il servizio di trasporto è stato eccellente. I membri dello staff del progetto erano molto amichevoli. Ho deciso di partecipare al programma perché la mia amica Gail mi ha consigliato di farlo. Vorrei anche dare un 10 su 10. È stato molto interessante e gratificante poter vedere e condividere la cura degli elefanti con i laboriosi mahout. Il coordinatore del progetto, Raj Soni, è stato molto attento e si è preoccupato che ci prendessimo cura di noi. È stato un piacere lavorare con questa compagnia e sì, consiglierei questo programma a tutti.

I was gladly met at the airport upon arrival and
transported to guest house. The Host family was very welcoming and humble. The food was very nice, the family were happy to serve more if wanted. The transport to the project everyday was prompt and reliable with the driver being very friendly. The project staff very friendly and welcoming; each member was very helpful in all areas, making the trip in India a lot more enjoyable. I like to give 10 out 10 marks. The elephant project gave a great insight to the different lives people lead. Working with the elephants was enjoyable. They were very sweet and the workers were friendly. I would love to return to take part in the project.

Trascorro 4 meravigliose settimane lavorando all'elefante

Ho avuto un inizio difficile perché ci sono stati dei problemi con il mio bagaglio all'aeroporto di Delhi, ma Sukret è stato molto disponibile in tutto questo, quindi qualsiasi cosa accada, prendetevela comoda e sarete in mani sicure. Ammetto di aver avuto dei momenti in cui ho pensato che tutto fosse nuovo per me, perché c'è una differenza culturale così grande. Sono venuta qui per 4 settimane, quindi all'inizio ho imparato a muovermi in città. I trasporti sono davvero economici in India. Ho visitato tutti i luoghi turistici durante il fine settimana e ho fatto molto shopping. I membri dello staff sono stati molto gentili nel presentarmi le loro famiglie e nel portarmi in diversi luoghi. Il lavorare con gli elefanti è incredibile. In un giorno normale venivo prelevato dalla famiglia ospitante alle 5:00 del mattino e tornavo a casa verso le 8:30. La maggior parte dei giorni pulivo l'area degli elefanti, li lavavo e li strofinavo e preparavo il cibo per loro. Ma ho anche fatto l'esperienza di fare il bagno agli elefanti nel giro del lago. Ogni giorno c'è il coordinatore del programma con te al progetto, quindi non sei mai solo, c'è sempre qualcuno con cui parlare e che risponde a tutte le tue domande. E questo ci fa sentire davvero sicuri e a nostro agio. Mi sono divertita molto a fare volontariato. È sicuramente un posto che mi piacerebbe visitare di nuovo. Lavoro duro ma elefanti davvero straordinari. Tutte le persone che ho incontrato qui sono molto accoglienti e dolci. Vorrei dare un bel 9 da 10 a VWI. I membri dello staff del progetto sono davvero fantastici! Non potevamo desiderare di meglio. È stato bello scrivere con Sukret, che ha sempre risposto molto velocemente. Sono molto esigente in fatto di cibo e non mi piace nulla di piccante, ma la famiglia è stata molto gentile ad assicurarsi che ci fosse sempre qualcosa che potessi mangiare.

My flight arrived early but within 5 minutes one of the VWI staff member was there to pick me up. Great Service. The accommodation was very good, the guesthouse had everything you could need including wifi internet, dry your clothes and a shop nearby that everything. The food was very tasty, available on demand and plenty of it – they were always offer more if it required.
Taxidriver drove me everywhere and he was awesome! I found that most of the time. I get into the tuk-tuk
and I didn’t know where I was going but I always went somewhere exciting! I will miss our samosa parties in the tuk-tuk a lot. He was on time, his driving was great and his smiley hallo, good morning at 5:00 a.m was always much appreciated.
Govind was my project supervisor and he really made my trip amazing. He was very helpful with any questions. I am yet to find one he couldn’t answer. He included me in things outside the project with his friends and family and I loved every minute of it. Sukret was also extremely helpful and answers my questions promptly. He was always around to check everything was ok.

I would give VWI 10/10, I had an awesome time and want to thank everyone involved. I would highly recommend this company to future volunteers and will come back the next time I am in India.
I did the elephant project for 3 weeks. Everyday we left at 5:00 a.m and started by cleaning the elephant enclosure picking up her poo with shovel, washing and scrubbing the elephant, then dressing the elephant ready to go to amber fort. Once the elephants had left we made bundles of food for them to eat later. Some afternoons we would make chappathi’s for elephants. The mahouts were great fun and always got involved with whatever they were doing, and the elephants were amazing.
I was bit nervous about going to India with VWI, but there was absolutely no need to be. The staff at VWI was professional, friendly and couldn’t have been more accommodating. They were very inclusive and I really enjoyed getting involved and learning about India culture firsthand. I was treated so well – I loved meeting the families and their friends. My sari will remind me of all the great times I spent with them. The project itself was really enjoyable with a highlight being washing the elephant in the elephant pool on my last morning. The sightseeing trips on the weekends were very well organized and included everything. Jaipur is a wonderful city to live in. I got to experience all the projects offered by VWI; this organization does a wonderful job. All projects are well-run and because all transportation food and accommodation is organized for you, all you have to do is enjoy every minute of the experience, the end of my time in India came a bit too fast.
