The Experience of a Lifetime

My week with Volunteering With India (VWI) in Jaipur was truly a wonderful and unforgettable experience. Teaching the children was challenging at times, but their enthusiasm and eagerness to learn made every moment worthwhile. On my final day, we all danced together — a beautiful and emotional moment that I will treasure forever.

India is a fascinating country. The traffic in Jaipur is unlike anything I’ve seen, and the cultural differences compared to England are striking. I was certainly out of my comfort zone, but I never once felt unsafe — the people were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and curious.

VWI is a genuine and well-organized program. They took excellent care of me throughout my stay. I also had the chance to meet people from TAABAR, a local organization doing impactful work in the community.

One suggestion I would make is to place greater emphasis on translation support. For example, when teaching simple phrases like “My name is John,” it would be helpful for the children to also learn the Hindi equivalent. This could significantly enhance their comprehension and language retention.

Overall, this is a very impressive and meaningful program — one that I would wholeheartedly recommend to others.

The arrival pick-up service was excellent—everything went smoothly from the moment I landed. The food and host family were absolutely wonderful. I felt truly welcomed and well cared for throughout my stay. The transportation service was very reliable, and the project staff were always helpful and supportive.

I chose to volunteer in India with VWI after researching many organizations online. VWI stood out with its excellent website that clearly explained everything I needed to know. Communication with Sukret was seamless, and the program pricing was very reasonable. I would happily give VWI 10 out of 9 marks for my overall satisfaction!

I had a fascinating week in Jaipur. Life here is completely different—busy, hectic, and full of energy. While I witnessed the challenges of poverty, I was equally impressed by the determination of so many people working to make things better. My teaching time was incredibly rewarding—I absolutely loved working with the children. I’m returning home with fond memories, meaningful experiences, and new friendships that I’ll cherish for a lifetime.

A Truly Cathartic Experience Volunteering in India

Being part of the volunteer program in India was absolutely amazing—a truly cathartic experience that exceeded all expectations. Working alongside other passionate volunteers was so much fun, and the children at the school were absolutely wonderful. I loved every moment spent with them.

The program provided everything I needed: three delicious meals a day and a private room, which made the stay comfortable and easy.

The highlight of my experience? Spending time with the boys—their energy and warmth made each day incredibly special. But there was more! I also got to see the incredible sights of India, travel by buses and autos, and even had a colorful experience with vibrant powders that dyed my skin for four days—such a fun and unforgettable memory!

The Volunteering With India (VWI) team did a fantastic job supporting us, always available to answer questions and provide guidance. Thank you so much for all your help and communication—this is truly a great program that I’d recommend to anyone looking for an enriching experience in India.
