During the summer of I was a volunteer in Jaipur, India. I went there in a program designed for women empowerment. All my life, the best role model I had was my mother who passed away at the beginning of the year; she did great things for me and I know howimportant the role of women in society is. Because of her I became an activist for women rights in underdeveloped countries.
Before the summer of 2023 I never went to Jaipur, but after what I experienced there I plan on going again next year. There is a huge need of schools in which those women can get an education, can develop skills and they need to learn that they can do more in life than just raise babies. Unfortunately they don’t get to experience all that there is to life because they are not given the chance to do so. VWI is trying to change that and give them the opportunity to a life that is more fulfilling but in order for the organization to do so, there is a need for other people to get involved and help organize things and raise money.

The lack of funds makes it very difficult for schools to be built and this makes it very difficult for women to develop their full capabilities. I have encountered there women that had acute senses towards exchange/economy and if they would be able to get a proper education I am sure that they would be able to get their own businesses running and this would offer them a level of independence and self reliance; they would stop depending so much on the man they marry.
I hope that my words can be heard and more people can take initiative in trying to help them, try to work with VWI to make their rights respected.

This is such a fulfilling program and I recommend it to anyone looking to help equip disadvantaged women / children with the skills and information they need to get by in the world.
The females in the program very eager and excited to learn from the volunteers, which makes the experience all the more fun and uplifting! The staff / program coordinators also make you feel very welcome and comfortable.
Jaipur is a wonderful city and there was so much to see during my off time – it was a great experience!

Le service d'accueil à l'arrivée était bon. Mon hébergement dans une famille d'accueil indienne était extraordinaire ! La nourriture était délicieuse et la chambre très confortable. Les services de transport pendant mon programme d'une semaine étaient excellents et les chauffeurs de taxi conduisaient prudemment. J'ai décidé de faire du volontariat en Inde car je voulais faire du volontariat à l'étranger pendant les vacances de printemps et ce programme offrait le plus grand nombre d'options et les meilleurs prix. J'aimerais donner 10 sur 10 à Volunteering With India. Nous avons été bien accueillis. Les membres du personnel nous ont aidés à planifier des activités pour l'après-midi et les week-ends. Ce programme offre de nombreuses options et je peux dire que ma présence dans le centre pour femmes a été utile. Je n'ai choisi qu'une semaine, mais c'est peu pour faire toutes les activités avec eux ; j'aimerais revenir bientôt et m'inscrire pour au moins 4 semaines. J'ai pu voir le Taj Mahal et beaucoup d'autres endroits magnifiques lors de mon week-end à Jaipur.

C'était génial de voir quelqu'un de l'équipe de VWI dès que je suis descendu du bus. La famille d'accueil était vraiment géniale. Si nous avions besoin de quoi que ce soit, il suffisait de le demander. Le service de transport était le meilleur. Le comportement amical du chauffeur de taxi a rendu le voyage plus agréable. Les membres de l'équipe du projet ont été très utiles. Le coordinateur du projet est toujours là pour traduire et aider. J'ai décidé de faire du volontariat avec VWI car Volunteering With India semblait être le meilleur programme parce que le site Internet était clair. La communication était excellente et nous n'avons pas eu à payer avant d'arriver. Le volontariat en Inde est l'une des meilleures expériences que j'ai vécues. J'ai rencontré tellement de gens et j'ai vécu l'Inde de la meilleure façon possible.
