Abhaneri is a village on the way from Jaipur to Agra. Abhaneri is prominent for ‘Baoris’, which are unique inventions of the natives for harvesting rainwater. Among the various stepwells, Chand Baori is the most popular. This colossal stepwell is located in front of the Harshat Mata Temple and is one of India’s deepest and largest stepwells. The huge tank with delicate carvings is visually delightful. Stepwells were historically used as cool resorts and water reservoirs during parched days. It was also a ritual to wash hands and feet before visiting the temple.

On the way to Agra, you can also visit Fatehpur Sikri, a fascinating ghost city built in the 16th century, located 37 km from Agra.

Le site Taj Mahal is one of the world’s finest architectural masterpieces and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built between 1631–1653 by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, it involved 20,000 workers and a cost of 32 crore rupees. Designed according to Islamic architecture, the Taj Mahal literally means “Place of the Crown” (Taj = Crown, Mahal = Place).

Most visitors to the Taj Mahal also visit the famous Fort d'Agra, just 2 km away on the same riverbank. Shah Jahan, who built the Taj Mahal, was later imprisoned by his son Aurangzeb in Agra Fort, from where he could still view the monument. He is said to have died in the Musamman Burj, a tower with a beautiful marble balcony overlooking the Taj. Between the fort’s many pavilions, you will find well-maintained gardens. After visiting the Taj Mahal, we continue to Agra Fort for a guided tour.

Sikandra – This beautiful monument was begun by Emperor Akbar and is a perfect blend of Hindu, Christian, Islamic, Buddhist, and Jain motifs. Akbar passed away before its completion, and his son Jehangir completed the mausoleum.

In Delhi, you will visit iconic landmarks including India Gate, Qutub Minar, Lotus Temple, Jama Masjid, Humayun Tomb, and Temple Akshardham, all must-see tourist attractions in India’s capital city.

In Jaipur, sightseeing includes Hawa Mahal, Amber Fort, Jaigarh Fort, City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Albert Hall Museum, and Temple des singes, which are essential highlights of the Pink City.
